Follicular Unit Extraction
FUE or Follicular unit extraction is one of the basic surgical procedure for hair transplantation. In this technique hair punches (manual, motorized, suction linked etc) are used to harvest hair follicles from the donor area. Subsequently they are transplanted into the recipient bald areas.
Prime Advantages of Follicular Unit Extraction
- Faster Recovery
- Stitch less
- Less Painful
- No Side-Effects Or Reactions.
- Natural Looking Hair
- Good Hair Density
Follicular unit extraction offers an almost in-differentiable natural looking hair line with optimal hair density and similar aesthetic results. Also what makes FUE more special is the fact that this procedure is virtually undetectable as extremely less invasive. Also Follicular Unit Extraction is completely painless. It is done under local anesthesia and the procedure is finished before even patient realizes about anything happening to him. The results of FUE are indeed too good to flaunt.
The only limiting factor with FUE technique is that more than 2000 -2500 grafts cannot be done in single session. This can be offset by sessions done in continuity for more days if more grafts have to be implanted.
Direct Hair Transplant (DHT)?
Essentially the same procedure as used in FUE for harvestation of hair follicles. The only difference is that in this technique the hair follicles are immediately implanted after being harvested, so the storage time of harvested follicles in absent and the follicles are exposed minimally to outside environment resulting in better uptake of grafts.
The procedure gives excellent results, the only limiting factor being that upto 2000 grafts can be transplanted in a single session. This can be offset by sessions done in continuity for more days if more grafts have to be implanted.
